Dasein

According to Heidegger, one cannot know the truth behind the manifest if one does not question the meaning of being. Being is the source of everything that exists. And those which exist are things that are within our plane of perception, which we may point at or speak about. When the existing becomes complete, a meaning embraces death, and reveals the truth behind it.

Kapçak’s monochrome photographs of forms in nature juxtaposes images taken in different settings and exposures to allude at the truly existing behind the photographic plane. The missing parts of the photographic image are revealed when the original subjects are observed. The meaning of the photographic image dies and reveals the truth behind it.
